Do you meet with clients on weekends?
On rare occasions we can schedule meetings outside of normal business hours to meet with you on a Saturday or an evening.
Are your fees negotiable?
No. we can, however, modify your scope of work to complete your project in phases.
Can we purchase our own products?
Our fees are based on years of knowledge and experience, not on selling products. So, yes, you can purchase your own products. As part of our design fee we recommend and specify certain products based on your project needs.
If you choose to buy these products from us, we’re responsible for handling any issues that might occur, such as damaged merchandise and missing parts. We will also visit the job site to make sure that our products (granite, tile, cabinets, flooring) are installed to our standards.
Unfortunately, this service doesn’t extend to products that you purchase on your own. We know mistakes happen, and are happy to help you correct these mistakes, damages, and incorrect items but will invoice you at our regular hourly design fee.
How often do we meet?
Because everyone is busy, we prefer to meet with you for the first consultation. We do this to see your space, offer ideas, and learn about your project. After that, we’ll “meet” via email, phone, and virtually to go over designs, product choices, budget, etc. Then we re-group for a meeting or two to select product, go over final designs, and fine tune everything.
We find, though, that some clients prefer all meetings take place in person. We’re happy to accommodate that and will adjust the design fee to fit your needs.
I’ve heard that designers get discounts on everything. Will those discounts be passed on to me?
Designer discounts vary from vendor to vendor and are not consistent across the board. The time involved to process an order, follow up with it, handle issues and send backs is extensive. This administration time is factored into the cost of the product. So, yes, discounts are offered to our contracted project clients when possible and will vary with the product. Discounts are only offered to clients working with us on projects and not to occasional hourly consultations.
