With a family of 6, this crowded kitchen never worked well for the homeowners. The peninsula cooktop overlooked the breakfast area and family room, but walking around it created extra steps.
The homeowners wanted a more open concept that would combine the three rooms into one as much as possible. An additional request was that the overall feel remind my client of her grandmother’s kitchen with a country French look, eliminating as many wall cabinets as possible.
To accomplish this, one wall was taken out along with the peninsula. This left enough space to include an island for cooking, and bar seating for the children to do their homework.
Can you tell me what the granite pattern is?
Christine,
I can’t remember what the granite was in this kitchen. But it looks a lot like Desert Sands. I happen to be installing it in my own kitchen right now, and they look very similar.
Hope this helps!

I love the brackets you used for the floating shelves. Would you share with me where you got them. They are exactly what I am looking for shelves in our bar area. I would so appreciate it
Thanks
Debra,
I fell in love with those brackets the minute that I saw them! They are from a company called Rochielle and can be found on line through their website. My local vendor has gone out of business, so on line will be the fastest and easiest for you. Good luck with your project!
