Holiday Springtime Ideas: Easter Table Decorations

EasterSpring has finally arrived!  We’ve all been cooped up most of the winter, and now we’re more than ready to add some color to our lives.  With Easter and Passover just around the corner, then Mother’s Day, the table seems to be the perfect place to let our creative juices flow.  The choice is yours with only your imagination to hold you back!  Will you go bold, exciting, and cheerful with lots of bright colors for your Easter table decorations?  Or maybe choose to decorate with understated elegance?

So with this in mind, I thought it would be fun to share some favorite ideas that I’ve found on the BHG website for spring.  I hope you like them as much as I do.

Using what you already have is the most creative way to go.  Put your imagination to work and try layering your dishes and mix and match the glasses.  I love the simplicity of using small tin containers and filling them with flowers and tiny plants.

Choosing a color theme for your Easter table decorations, like this one in pink and white, creates a look that’s clean and simple…yet festive.  I love how the burlap napkins are tied with leaves made from scrapbooking paper!  Notice how this detail has been carried through to the centerpiece.  The blooms are tucked into a planter filled with wheatgrass.  It’s a simple effect, and yet easy to duplicate.  Did you know you can grow wheatgrass in 5-7 days?

Being a fan of mercury glass, this is one of my favorites!  You can add springtime flowers in colors you love, and paint wooden eggs to continue the color theme.

This pastel flower bouquet with eggs is so easy to make!  The trick is to place a clear drinking glass or thin vase in the center of a canister or large-mouth jar.  Then you’ll have room for the eggs to be stacked around it.  Fill the glass with water and add your flowers.  This one uses roses, gerber daisies, tulips, hyacinth, and bells of Ireland.

What a unique way to display tulips!  Remove live tulips from their pots and wrap the bulbs with sheet moss to form your own moss ball.  Use fishing wire to help you keep the shape.  And look!  More wheatgrass…

This festive kid-friendly table setting couldn’t be easier to make.  Colored tins can be found at discount stores and tied with your favorite ribbon, then filled with candy treats for the kids.  Plastic egg halves are filled with wheatgrass and placed in sugar molds.  You can find these wooden sugar molds at antique stores and flea markets.  The holes are a perfect fit for our egg halves.  Finish it off with colorful flower stems tucked in between the grass.

These are just a few ideas for decorating your own table for the Springtime.  Remember to start with what you have and then make your shopping list to fill in.  Ready…set…go!  Let’s get started!!!!
